Phil Dirt - Reverb Central - PO Box 1609, Felton, CA 95018-1609 USA | These three instros come from a series of videos produced in 1999. The version of "Bali Ha'i" is among the coolest out there! Insanely cool use of tape delay! Well worth tracking down! |
Picks: Bali Ha'i, Le Parrain, Keanu Reeves
Track by Track Review
Surf (Instrumental)
This live track (mpg video) is totally cool! Huge, verging on ugly, sci-fi tweaked with tape echo saturation effects, and the so-fun melody. The Wangs do this with power, grins, and in your face attack. The reverb crashes and attitude are very cool, and the tape echo swirls just take it over the top!
Surf (Instrumental)
A raucous performance of the theme from "The Godfather," with reverb galore and stompin' rhythm. This is a very tuff performance, with darkness, abandon, and dry wit.
Surf (Instrumental)
Heavy garage thrash surf in a big punkoidal framework. Spiked with screamed chants of praise to "Keanu Reeves." Really fun moron surf!
