Track by Track Review
Garage (Instrumental)
Whistling organ runs accompaniment for a sorta spy guitar line. "Africa" is a nicely written piece of music. Some fuzz, some shimmer, some mystery, some pumpin' drums and throbbin' bass. Cool track.
Surf (Instrumental)
Vibrato rhythm guitar plays along side fuzz lead, which is issuing up an easy going melody befitting the song's title. In a blend of rock and surf played in a nicely flowing arrangement, the Vivisectors have generated a simple yet appealing song that you'll come back to.
Surf (Instrumental)
"Lucky Day" begins with a quirky introduction, but moves quickly into a very nice melody. The start-stop nature of the intro is repeated as a bridge, which keeps it lively. Very nice!
Surf (Instrumental)
This is a very cool track, with Leslie organ subtly creating a swirl of mood along side a fine melody line. Attractive and upbeat, "Sunny Beach" moves along like a topdown afternoon on surf route 101. Light hearted and warm.
Surf (Instrumental)
Layered with vibrato and organ swirl, "Escape" has a kind of spaghetti western feel to it, yet calls to a summer curl rider. The shimmer of the vibrato is very appealing.
Surf (Instrumental)
"Water and Wind" is light and playful, in a summer getaway kind of way. Not a serious bone is detectable as you relax in the flippant flow of the song.
Surf (Instrumental)
This is a little heavy in a country lane sort of way. A little spaghetti, a little surf, and all enjoyable. "Snapper" sneaks up on you!
Surf (Instrumental)
It's cowboy prancing time when the Vivisectors haul out this very fun song. "The Car Of My Dreams" is light hearted and pure fun, with a bouncing rhythm and warm melody and counter melody.
Surf (Instrumental)
Slowly it starts. The vibrato guitar shimmers in the first rays of sun after the rain has gone. "After The Storm" is a very appropriate title for this song, with its shimmer and gentleness.
Surf (Instrumental)
"Trespassing" is lighter than the title might lead you to expect. Flowing along, not risking detection, but just enjoying the ride. Cool melody.
Surf (Instrumental)
Slow and moody, maybe sad, "Dolphin's Lullaby" paints a picture of loneliness in the sea. It's a very nice backdrop for a soft evening.
Surf (Instrumental)
Employing a simple but evolving riff, "Seashore" seems like it's best suited for a scene setting. Great drums here.
Surf (Instrumental)
Awakening on the sands, developing waves just becoming visible as the sun peaks over the horizon, you sense an easy day of perfect glass. "Morning Melody" seems to set that kind of mood.
Surf (Instrumental)
"Old and New + 169" has excellent guitar lines and chords, soothing organ swirl, a hypnotic bass line, and great drums. It engages you, soothes you, and brings you back again. Excellent track.
Surf (Instrumental)
I never though of fruit going insane, nor does "Loco Banana" convey such a picture. It's a pleasant song with an endearing riff.
Surf (Instrumental)
"Low Tide" is one of the more engaging melodies here. It's not complex, but seems to capture your attention. perhaps it's the tom toms and bass that set that up. Nice track.
