Phil Dirt - Reverb Central - PO Box 1609, Felton, CA 95018-1609 USA The Tube Sharks - Demo 1997

 | The Tube Sharks have been playing in the Bay Area and surrounds for a few years now. This early '97 demo is a glimpse into a developing band. Remember this is like a rehearsal and very formative... don't compare it to an official release or the band's sound today. Think of it as an historical document. |

Surf (Instrumental)
The Tube Sharks do a fine job with the Untamed Youth's "Overcast." Big reverb and melodic chunk, lotsa drive and a solid beat.
Surf (Instrumental)
This original tune is twangy and chunky, and based in part on Link Wray's style. A little repetitive, yet quite workable. Tasty reverb and a cool feeling of agua plenty.
Surf (Instrumental)
Based on the classic Trashmen arrangement, this is a solid performance with lots of chunk. It's not as rhythmic as the classic, and the drum work is pretty tentative, yet the power is evident.
Surf (Instrumental)
Classic indeed. The Astronauts arrangement, the reverbed twang, and the "Surfin' With..." feel. Very nice.
Surf (Instrumental)
Not really fiery enough, yet still quite listenable. This song's been done many times. This is a very trad version.
