The Toy Dolls - On Stage In Stuttgartdotdotdotdot
artworkI've always like the Toy Dolls. Since first hearing "Nellie The Elephant" and "Dougy Giro," I've been a fan. Then, after recommending them to Paul Johnson, and he saw them do "(Ghost) Riders In The Sky" live, I've been in search of their instros. While that song is not here, there are four instros, including a firebrand performance of Sabre Dance and a happy pompous theme from "Raiders Of The Lost Ark." Dig that groove, baby!
Picks: Dig That Groove Theme, Sabre Dance, Wakey Wakey Theme Tune, Raiders Of The Lost Ark

Dig That Groove Theme dotdotdot
Surf Punk (Instrumental)

This is a crunchy chord progression riff rocker used to warm up and open their shows. Some noodling, some fun, and then, bam! Right into their signature "happy punk."

Sabre Dance dotdotdotdot
Surf Punk (Instrumental)

Major chunk, super fuzz, speed demon pace not unlike the Love Sculpture version, just less manic and more punkie. Hot, way fun, and high spirited. Too cool.

Wakey Wakey Theme Tune dotdotdot
Surf Punk (Instrumental)

"Wakey Wakey Theme Tune" sports an almost Scottish melody riff. It's an itty bitty intro to "Stay Mellow."

Raiders Of The Lost Ark dotdotdotdot
Surf Punk (Instrumental)

A relentless drum beat brings on percussive guitar chords. Then, in comes that pompous melody line from the "Raiders Of The Lost Ark" for about a minute. With grins strapped on tightly, the Toy Dolls have more fun than is legal.
