To Damascus - Succumbdotdotdot
artworkTo Damascus was a rock-power band from LA. Their usual fare was melodic and assaultive, like the Plimsouls less the jangle. This album includes two surf instros, and a nifty cover of Frumious Bandersnatch's "Hearts To Cry."
Picks: Night Surfing, Rare Water

Track by Track Review

Night Surfing dotdotdotdot
Surf Garage (Instrumental)

This fine track is melodic and well constructed, with crunchy guitar, edgie tone, and infectious energy. "Night Surfing" saw a lot of action among the surf bands of the South Bay in the mid eighties, being covered by the Mallards, among others.

Rare Water dotdotdotdot
Surf Garage (Instrumental)

"Rare Water" is a tasty instro with a catchy melody riff and a solid delivery. Different from "Night Surfing," it has a more serious/reverent appeal.
