Phil Dirt - Reverb Central - PO Box 1609, Felton, CA 95018-1609 USA | To Damascus was a rock-power band from LA. Their usual fare was melodic and assaultive, like the Plimsouls less the jangle. This album includes two surf instros, and a nifty cover of Frumious Bandersnatch's "Hearts To Cry." |
Picks: Night Surfing, Rare Water

Surf Garage (Instrumental)
This fine track is melodic and well constructed, with crunchy guitar, edgie tone, and infectious energy. "Night Surfing" saw a lot of action among the surf bands of the South Bay in the mid eighties, being covered by the Mallards, among others.
Surf Garage (Instrumental)
"Rare Water" is a tasty instro with a catchy melody riff and a solid delivery. Different from "Night Surfing," it has a more serious/reverent appeal.
