 | This is a fine little single from 1981. The Tikis was the pop alter-ego of the band Monitor. They were from the San Fernando Valley, and started performing in the late 1970s as part of the late Hollywood punk scene. They merge light weight sixties pop-psych with surf to create a nifty and unique sound, a combo sound of surf and Farfisa. The band only played live once, at Otis Parsons Art Institute on Nov 12, 1979. Bassist Michael Uhlenkott was later in the Romans. |
