Tiki Tiki Bamboooos - Cloudy, Later Finedotdotdotdot
artworkIt's always exciting to find new music from Tiki Tiki Bamboooos in the mail. This is their new CD single, with three groovy instros and one very sultry vocal. The wonder of the chanteuse vocals of Tiki Tiki Bamboooos are oh-so lovely as Doro Bamboooos sings the wispy "Holiday." Very cool.

If you're lucky enough to have viewed the video promo for this, well, the images just extend the legend. From Doro rockin' out on bass to Miyaji in his grass skirt out on the street, the images are just priceless. Lots of footage in the studio and on the road. The contrast between the snow outside and the warmth of the island's allure is delicious.

Yokohama Sunset Serenade dotdotdotdot
(Instrumental)

From a gentle chord progression opener, "Yokohama Sunset Serenade" moves right into a controlled slow double picked melody line. It's an interesting and difficult proposition. Meter becomes everything. This is sultry and liquid. Once the bottle neck come in, it takes on an island feeling. The chorus completes the holiday sound. Very soothing and cool.

Panda Power dotdotdotdotdot
(Instrumental)

This rips with real bounce and surf rhythms. A very cool melody and totally infectious rhythm intertwine to create a sunlit surfride. Great drums, silky bass, and liquid glissandos. Wonderful!

Cloudy, Later Fine dotdotdotdot
(Instrumental)

Here's a very slow and island relaxed track that simply rests until large, almost Link Wray chords cause a temporary stir. Sounds of beach chatter create the illusion of a casual summer outing. Excellent tone!
