artworkThis 5-tracker is really nice. The songs are excellent, and the playing very good. The production values kinda keep its inner power from showing itself. Still, I think this is well worth chasing down.
Picks: Momster, Sweet Revenge, Ghost Hunter, Mr. Limpit, They Might Be Pirates

Track by Track Review

Momster dotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

This is a very surfable instro, thought it relies on echoed guitar instead of reverb. The melody is very cool, and the feeling it invokes period correct. "Momster" is a very pleasant track with a sunny beach sound.

Sweet Revenge dotdotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

"Sweet Revenge" is a slow and easy moving track with a circular rhythm riff. It meanders slowly along until the throb of the tremolo lead comes along to give it a bit of darkness and edge. Dramatic and cool.

Ghost Hunter dotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

This is a mid tempo number with pretty cool bridge. Fairly surfable, and the guitar's low position in the mix doesn't seem to hurt it much. Still, I wonder just how much stronger "Ghost Hunter" would be with proper production.

Mr. Limpit dotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

The circular rhythm here is playful, and the melody fun too. The drums are really good. "Mr. Limpit" builds on its core idea, and has genuine surf appeal. Interesting and enjoyable, and with lots of potential.

They Might Be Pirates dotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

A bit moody, "They Might Be Pirates" has lovely tremolo shimmer and lure. This is a high potential song with a very cool riff and solid writing.
