The Tarrytons - Rough Surfin' c/w Mansion On The Hilldotdotdot
artworkThese two sides are just not surf, despite the title. I don't know if they were an actual band, but both sides sound a lot like a demo from the usual suspects. This single was picked up by Dot for national distribution (Dot 45-19357).

Track by Track Review

Rough Surfin' dotdotdot
Rock (Instrumental)

Splashy rock with echoed guitar chords and whistling organ melody, and standard sax lines in the break. The drums are pretty cool, and the rhythm is the part that catches your attention. "Rough Surfin'" is not at all a surf instro.

Mansion On The Hill dotdot
Blues (Instrumental)

"Mansion On The Hill" is a blues jam on white bread, with nothing to really set it apart from the crowd. It wants to be a minor Johnny and the Hurricanes track, but it's not that interesting.
