The Surfmen 2000 - Live at the Barking Frog 5/1/99dotdotdot
artworkThis Nevada band has not yet done any studio work. This is a two song live set presented merely to prove their existence. The four piece of Dennis Atkinson - rhythm guitar, Toby Hatch - whammy guitar, Justin Saragoza (20,000 Leagues) - bass, and Teo Ramirez - drums are joined in this live set by Jim Masoner (Surfmen, Lively Ones) on lead guitar. The sound quality is very limited, being a cassette ambient capture, but history is history. Recorded live at the Barking Frog 5/1/99.
Picks: Telstar, Penetration

Telstar dotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

An excellent performance in a straight forward surf fashion, though quite dry. Jim Masoner current style is reverb free, and that is how he plays it here. None the less, it's precise and nicely interpreted. High energy, with lots of drive.

Penetration dotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

Rumbly and somewhat restrained delivery of the Pyramids' classic, with a bit of a country whine and a gentler flow. Quite tasty for sure.
