Launch Pad dotdotdot
Space Surf (Instrumental)

"Launch Pad" sports some pretty traditional tone and a grand melody line that's very vintage sounding. The guitar's attack is spring loaded, which creates that delightful surf sound.

Comet's Tail dotdotdotdot
Space Surf (Instrumental)

Fuzz guitar romps out atop a great surf backtrack, creating a merger of Davie Allan-ish dirty biker fuzz and traditional surf. The melody is not biker, and the surf guitar is just great. "Comet's Tail" is a wonderful garagy number with frothy energy and a really cool melody.

Space Mover dotdotdotdot
Space Surf (Instrumental)

Shimmering tremolo guitar gives "Space Mover" its spacy sound. The sci-fi coolness rides atop a very solid surf track. Great dark double picking, and some lovely muted lines in transitions. This really grows on you.

Moon Buggy dotdotdot
Space Surf (Instrumental)

The sound of "Moon Buggy" harkens to an earlier time. The keys are very endearing, and the chord progressions in the transitions very attractive. The arranging here is perfect for the song.

Little Rocket Mill dotdotdotdot
Space Surf (Instrumental)

A mid tempo rhythm and sparkling guitar melody give "Little Rocket Mill" an easy sound to get into. The melody is just so natural, as if you've known it all your life, yet it's only now emerged.

Rainy Days In Space dotdotdot
Space Surf (Instrumental)

Totally cool electric piano makes "Rainy Days In Space" work. This is as easy going as its name implies. The shimmer of the tremolo on the keys, along with the occasional aural references to "Music To Watch Girls By" further cement the warmth of the track.

Around The Galaxy dotdotdot
Space Surf (Instrumental)

This is all open road adventurous, with optimism about what lies ahead. It's hard to listen to "Around The Galaxy" without grinning. Quite fun.

Danger Ahead dotdotdotdot
Space Surf (Instrumental)

Big fuzz a la Davie Allan drives this anthem. The whammy dips and string bending add to the biker sound, and the sweeping melody is all about that bygone era when Hell's Angels roamed the outdoor screens. Excellent!

Space Encounter dotdotdotdot
Space Surf (Instrumental)

This is pure surf, with a bit of space implication. The lead guitar is really fine sounding, with lots of absolutely dripping muted reverb. "Space Encounter" has a sense of travel and adventure, and the pulsing single note keyboard creates a space communication feeling. I love this!

Far And Beyond dotdot
Space Surf (Instrumental)

An haunting electro intro brings along an instro with a bit of an eastern European melody and combo organ much like a Wurlitzer.

Marching Robots dotdotdot
Space Surf (Instrumental)

Dark fuzz marches in unison as sci-fi guitar tone leads the way. The bell like keys and splashy surf chords complete the juxtaposition of incongruous elements that give "Marching Robots" a disturbing sound. I just can't decide if I like this or not.

Mercurian Surf Stomp dotdotdotdot
Space Surf (Instrumental)

"Mercurian Surf Stomp" has a bouncing and infectiously upbeat melody line played on richly reverbed guitar. There's a lot to like here, from the melody and tone to the traveling nature of the track. very cool.

Space Coach dotdotdotdot
Space Surf (Instrumental)

A "Pipeline"-esq rhythm pattern and chiming keys eventually yield to a very cool circular riff. "Space Coach" prances and circles, leaving you wanting to hear it again. Great driving music, and the tremolo keys are very endearing.

Moon Made dotdotdotdot
Space Surf (Instrumental)

Big chords and drums provide an entree' to a song with a really good melody riff played muted and reverbed. The breaks is like a whole other song. "Moon Made" is a surf instro that's very friendly and well suited for a dawn patrol.

Planetary Stroll dotdotdot
Space Surf (Instrumental)

Another very optimistic driving song, this time with churchy organ. I found the organ to be a bit off-putting, but otherwise, "Planetary Stroll" is a delightful track.

Bonus Track dotdotdot
Space Surf (Instrumental)

"Bonus Track" is "Bonus Track" in 32 seconds. Way too brief.
