Phil Dirt - Reverb Central - PO Box 1609, Felton, CA 95018-1609 USA The Surfin' Nipples - Attack Of Your Beach!

 | Alright, this may be an mp3 demo only, but clearly, there are fresh things happening here. Attack Of Your Beach! is surf with a twist. Let's just say you shouldn't expect trad, but you also might hear references to the energy and grit of Man or Astro-MAN?, not that this is too much like that really. Rock with surf. |
Picks: First, Second, Third, Fourth, Third
Track by Track Review
Surf Rock (Instrumental)
Trembling guitar, dripping springs, moody ambiance, and gently lapping waves bring forth a boomy take of an interesting song. Big rumble, heavy thunder, and raging drums. The midsection's muted guitar is superb against the rightly subtle organ. "First" is mostly about power and drama.
Surf Rock (Instrumental)
Grumpy and gritty with a grin, "Second" features a simple and engaging riff. Written like a fifties growler, amped like tomorrow, and very gritty. If Link Wray was 15 and played in his neighbor's garage, he might have done stuff like this. Very big!
Surf Rock (Instrumental)
An easy chord progression, glissandos, a light hearted riff, and dry grit give you "Third." Highly unusual, with great drums, and some really cool guitar lines. It certainly grows on you.
Surf Rock (Instrumental)
Big whammy twang, a swamp chord progression, and a dangerous vibe. Long sustain chords create drama and danger. "Fourth" is pretty intense, and very original.
Surf Rock (Instrumental)
This is a variant of "Third" with a whole different attitude. Muted chop chord magic and a huge sound mean this much more space-grind dangerous.
