Track by Track Review

Cat's Eyes dotdotdot
Rockabilly Surf (Instrumental)

"Cat's Eyes" is a rockin' rockabilly based instro with edge and dark twang. More riff than melody, but the tribal drums and glissandos keep it afloat.

Tooth Killer dotdotdot
Rockabilly Surf (Instrumental)

This progression based instro rocks and jives in a post rockabilly way. It's assaultive and sports some mighty fine glissandos. Somewhat dissonant, and quite tribal. Great drums.

U.R.T.A. dotdotdotdot
Rockabilly Surf (Instrumental)

"U.R.T.A." is a very fun twangster, with big surf sustain through the reverb and a snappy catchy riff. Lots of fun and spark. It's not often that a non-melodic instro catches my attention, but this is just too fun to pass up!

Misirlou dotdotdot
Rockabilly Surf (Instrumental)

A kind of gritty version of "Misirlou" that's based on the Dickster's classic. Flying double picked guitar and big energy. very nicely done.

S-ciafoni dotdotdot
Rockabilly Surf (Instrumental)

A little like a Halibuts' instro at times, "S-ciafoni" is a riffy chopster that's fun and a little dark. The drums seem to be the coolest part. Spunk and twang.

Vent 15 dotdotdot
Rockabilly Surf (Instrumental)

Very tribal drums and grodie glissandos, and a melody line not unlike some Jesters tunes. Aggressive and loaded with energy, and the subtle midsection id very cool too.

Torture dotdotdot
Rockabilly Surf (Instrumental)

This is a spiffy version of the Fendermen's ultra groovy "Torture." Lots of reverb and spunk. Not at all delicate like the original, and the "Batman" riffs in the middle are a nifty touch.

Rumble dotdotdot
Rockabilly Surf (Instrumental)

Big danger always lurks in Link Wray's tunes. Sparse and dark, and evil. This is actually "Fat Back," not "Rumble."

Surfin' Criminal dotdotdot
Rockabilly Surf (Instrumental)

This is a bouncing and energetic instro with a dark underbelly. Great drum action and gritty sound. Pretty cool!
