Sugar Joe dotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

A gentle guitar piece with a picturesque sound and feel. Ringing chords and a bit of reverb call to the ocean. This is a very pleasant song telling of a sunny day and a gentle break.

Surf (Instrumental)

This is a faster riff rocker with keys in the lead. In some ways, it's a little like Booker T. and the MG's at the beach. I didn't think I'd like this, but it has a magnetic quality about it. Pretty fun.

Acoustic Joe dotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

This soft and breezy number sets a warm summer tone to a relaxed afternoon. Tropical, laid back, and fluid. Very nice track.

Wind on Water 1 dotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

This is a haunting semi-exotic tropical piece that floats on a mai tai verandah the way a romantic memory floats on a summer afternoon breeze. Not melodic, but very soothing.

Reggae Joe dotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

A bit of pumping bass and almost reggae drums, with a simple progression over the top. While this is a backdrop to a scene, it has a sense of the sea in its fluid roll. A little jazzy, a little Jamaican, and a little surf.

Steely Joe dotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

Surf funk in a lounge... not much to say beyond the image that summons. Fun and simple.

Surf (Instrumental)

This is a pumpin' fastish song with a catchy riff on the keys and a tight surf beat. Structured like the AABA instros of old, with just enough cool, and augmented with a glissando or two. Nice track.

Sugar Joe 2 dotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

A tropical beat and palm-tree flow in this enjoyable instro. Simple, innocent fun with a gentle sound.

El Nino dotdotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

This is a mighty spirited "Miserlou" influenced number, with ample Russian rhythm and surf melody. The double picked lead is quite tasty, and the playful nature of the song is very infectious. It's a long track, but the blend of twin leads, Russian rhythms, surf, and pure fun keep the interest up throughout. Melodic and magnetic. This track is by the Red Elvises.

Surf (Instrumental)

Slow moving and almost sultry, the fat bass and soft guitar play a gentle flowing melody that's very VERY pretty. It seems to call to the surf in an island escape sorta way. I like this a lot.

Percussive Joe dotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

Ringing chords, a playful circular riff, and a sense of an open road along the coast. More than a backdrop, with an endearing sound.

Surf (Instrumental)

The same song as track 7, and just as cool. Pumpin' energy and a very catchy beat.

Surf (Instrumental)

This track is very cool, with interesting rhythms and spooky stereo delayed keys providing atmosphere. Truly a scene track, but very pretty and relaxing. The haunting electronics adds a sense of whales in the open ocean.
