Track by Track Review
Surf (Instrumental)
"Fly Up" has long been a hard driving rock anthem for The Surf Coasters. This new recording is very powerful! You can feel the power, and the fuzz bass is down right dark.
Surf (Instrumental)
"Chasing Shadows" is one of the band's more obscure tunes. Its energy is solid and its pumping bass superb. Great drums and big grins. Splendid!
Surf (Instrumental)
This is a new, mighty tuff recording of "Tally-Ho!," originally issued on the Surface Impressions and Astral Circle albums. Its trad style calls to the South bay sound, but with much more punch. You can hear the Paul Johnson influence. Wonderful!
Surf (Instrumental)
This slower melodic song is all spy adventure. The melody flows really well, and the arrangement is full throated. This version is pumping hot and mighty tuff.
Surf (Instrumental)
"Surfside Village" is a new song with a lovely holiday feel and lots of punch. The melody is fluid and infectious. Sunny and warm, with an afternoon breeze! This track grows on you.
Surf (Instrumental)
"Dolphins" goes back to 1995. To call it pumped and punch is an understatement. It has what must be the chunkiest glissandos anywhere. Melodic, reverb drenched, and high energy. Amazingly hot!
Surf (Instrumental)
Wow! "Black Hole" is entirely infectious, and not at all common. This exemplifies why The Surf Coasters have captured the American surf audience! Totally stoked!
Surf (Instrumental)
"Tsunami Struck" is fast and furious. The energy is extremely high. This track shredz! Punkoidal an relentless. Egad!
Surf (Instrumental)
"Bike Men!" is immense, and its punch is in contrast to the hand claps. Catchy, powerful, and superbly played!
Surf (Instrumental)
"Riding High" is a high energy instro with a raw edge. Its power riff is very fun. Rousing with a ton of energy and punkoidal spunk. An awesome frenzy.
Surf (Instrumental)
The tribal drums and bongos create an exotic rhythm while the dark bass suggests danger. The second guitar plays a ska rhythm. With its undulating pulse, "Linda" is way cool.
Surf (Instrumental)
"Sea Knows" is a captivating semi slow song that is just perfect. Thoroughly captivating and melodic. It has the right melody, the perfect structure, the captivating hooks... in short, all you need! I love this.
