Track by Track Review
Surf (Instrumental)
The Surf Coasters' launched into their performance with "Samurai Struck" from the new CD. It seems a little slower to me, but that may just be the deeper tone of the mix. A fine band is in the house!
Surf (Instrumental)
"Midnight Headlight" is smooth and liquid, with a pretty melody and inviting chords. Excellent!
Surf (Instrumental)
Why can Shigeo do this? Could it be the six hours a day he practices? He plays it like the piano masterpiece it is. Stunning! Wham bam, thank you man!
Surf (Instrumental)
"Nineteen" opens with monster feedback, then begins to grumble like Link Wray. Powerful, very big, and totally solid!
Surf (Instrumental)
The Surf Coasters' signature song keeps going and going and going! Need I say more? And "Miserlou" remains a favorite too. Fire and fury, flying fingers and surf rage all around. Wonderful!
