Billy Strange With The Telstars - Limbo Rockdotdotdot
artworkThis is a thirty plus minute instrumental split into two sides of an LP. It's much more of a novelty and endurance test than a great record, but if you like the Limbo instros such as those from The Champs, this might peak your interest. Billy Strange cut some great stuff, and some mung. Limbo Rock lies somewhere in between.
Picks: Limbo Rock, A' Loota Limbo

Limbo Rock dotdotdot
Instrumental Rock (Instrumental)

"Limbo Rock" is really just part one of a long session. Starting out pretty traditional, and sporting calls and shouts, it eventually yields to a tasteful jam with flute in the lead. Each section is separated by a traditional bridge as it eases in and out of the main theme.

A' Loota Limbo dotdotdot
Instrumental Rock (Instrumental)

"A' Loota Limbo" is part two, and it's more experimental, beginning with the cowbell. There are some really nice acoustic guitar licks cycling through. The reeds rasp and noodly as if they were captured at The Village Gate, and the faux bird calls add to the mystique. Pretty fun.
