Track by Track Review
Surf Fuzz (Instrumental)
Fuzz, big drums, power, and a solid melody rock your world. "Space Party" thunders and rocks and grinds. This is an excellent track with tuff energy and plenty going on. There are times when Davie Allan comes to mind.
Surf Fuzz (Instrumental)
Though only a few feet from The Halibuts' "Hammerhead" at times, this track has a much grittier sound and grodier power. It is perhaps a bit minimalist, but not in a negative way. Dark fuzz glissandos and lines perilously close to "Ride The Wild Surf" give this a demented pop feel, while the grungy tone keeps it real.
Surf Fuzz (Instrumental)
Dangerous fuzz and grating edge lumber their way through this ominous number. A solid melody riff and interspersed screams, along with tortured whammy dips make this pretty darn cool!
Surf Fuzz (Instrumental)
Reverbed Spanish guitar in echoed spatial spread creates a kind of dangerous black lace image not unfamiliar to spaghetti westerns. "Spanish Song" is a dramatic song that's dark around the edges.
Surf Fuzz (Instrumental)
Military drums and tortured whammy, fuzz and bass thunder trample the calm with a menacing warning of things to come. There's a bit of film detective here too.
Surf (Instrumental)
Cool drums approaching "Apache" and a moody bass line carry a disturbed melody with an uneasy sound. "Gumshoe" has a back alley danger and a brooding bottom end. A very strong remix!
Surf Fuzz (Instrumental)
Angry fuzz, rhythmic adventure, and empty space gloom. If space movies were spaghetti westerns with fuzz, they'd sound this way. Great drums and bass make this really cohesive. Powerful and dangerous.
Surf Fuzz (Instrumental)
"The Unknown Surfer" may be on the minimalist side, but it's a fine composition with chilling tremolo and great tribal drums. What you notice if you pay attention is superb bass and arranging.
Journey Through The Black Hole

Surf Fuzz (Instrumental)
"Journey Through The Black Hole" is on the gentle side of dangerous. It begins at a slow pace, but quickly moves into angular power mode. I am reminded of Man or Astro-Man at times.
Surf Fuzz (Instrumental)
This is a spectacular reinvention of The Tornadoes' "Beyond The Surf!" Much heavier and more grode, yet retaining the dangerous feeling. I've been waiting forever for a cover of this song. I love this!
