 | The daughter-father team of Ellie and William Sims have their act together. Ellie plays guitars, bass, drums, percussion, and occasional vocals, and William plays guitars, bass, drums, and keys. If you think that makes for a lackluster release, think again. You will be surprised at how cool these tracks are. Check them out - they're on MySpace. |

Track by Track Review
Surf (Instrumental)
The guitar plays a happy summer melody in tandem with several other guitars for a layered sound. The drums are mostly subdued in the mix. They roll in the break. "Walk The Nose" is a fun coastal song with a sunny disposition.
Surf (Instrumental)
Big splashy rock chords and great drums support a melody that's a variant of "La Bamba" in places. "'Big Guy's' Beach Hut" is a very fun track with a beach party sound.
Surf (Instrumental)
Pretty surf chords and a Spanish melody moodily play out in slow motion. "Las Olas" is haunting and very pretty. Its sound is a little sad, but new dawn optimistic. Very nice!
Surf (Instrumental)
"Surf Dance" is all surf. Rhythmic, reverbed, charming, and fun, with Ellie Sims uttering tastefully brief lines. This is a really nice track with an eighties surf feel!
