 | Spain's garage rock monsters Los Santos also do some very punky surf. This CD-R is a compilation of some of their instro recordings and demos. The music is far outside the trad envelope, often being squarely in a punk vein, but if that's your bag, and especially minimalist rock, then they just might be for you. |

Track by Track Review
Fuzz Surf Punk (Instrumental)
This is a big and dark instro with fuzz lead. Its simple riff is a throwback to the early sixties, but it's darkness and fuzz are much newer. The heavy drums are very cool!
Fuzz Surf Punk (Instrumental)
The heavy muted rhythm is spy based in the intro, but once the song arrives, it's punk'n'roll all the way. Minimalist, dark, and dangerous. Lot's of moodiness and submerged anger.
Fuzz Surf Punk (Instrumental)
A dark distortion laden glissando rips into a very punk beat and minimalist riff. This heavy track is aggressive in volume, and the orchestrated collapse before it speeds up is pretty cool!
Fuzz Surf Punk (Instrumental)
With a heavier than the Cramps rhythm born of "Boss," this dangerous garage fuzz number is quite commanding. Solid and ominous.
Fuzz Surf Punk (Instrumental)
"Tampa" is a trashy song that's minimal and very garage-frat-punk. It's not melodic at all, but it is a lot like the sounds oozing out of that detached garage down the street that you call the police about all the time.
Fuzz Surf Punk (Instrumental)
"Turbocadillac" has the makings of a tuff garage surf song just waiting for a great studio. There's a ton of energy here, and a solid melody line, along with screaming intense guitar. The Berzerkers could make this shine, as could other nontraditional surfbands. Very cool!
Fuzz Surf Punk (Instrumental)
This is a nonstop nerve wracking and intense experience. One note slaughter and obscene flailing about the fret board. This is not at all melodic, but it sure is powerful.
Fuzz Surf Punk (Instrumental)
"Tijuana Lovers" is a lumbering number with a dirty riff and dark underbelly. Its dreadful sound is pierced by the largeness of it's growl.
Fuzz Surf Punk (Instrumental)
This is a mid tempo slowish number that's all punk and no fuss. An evil riff circulated via fuzz and grumble. Heavy! It's a very short blast.
