The Pirates - Peter Gunndotdotdotdotdot
artworkWith an impeccable pedigree, and a family tree born at the dawn of British rock 'n' roll, this incarnation of the Pirates issued this 4 song ep in 1982. Guitarist Mick Green is one of the great unsung heroes of rock 'n' roll, an innovator and, at the age of forty-plus here, an incredibly powerful player. Backing Green are Frank Farley - drums, and Johnny Spence - bass. Also on this 10" release are the amazing reggae based party anthem "Just Another Party," a ballad, and a straight ahead rock 'n' roll cut.

Rock (Instrumental)

This is one of the more original versions of Henry Mancini's television series theme song. They've taken the melody, and backed it with a unique chop-chord stop-start rhythm that's dry, abrasive, and attractive. It's a gnarly, powerful, infectious performance, like Link Wray without sustain. Totally cool! No surf, just incredible rock 'n' roll instrumental madness.
