 | This 1999 release somehow escaped under my radar. There are three instros here. Surf influenced garage pop with loud mastering and unrelenting energy. |
Picks: Incog-Neat-O!, A Day At The Races, Doug Buggy
Track by Track Review
Go-Go Surf (Instrumental)
The shore is gently lapped by the sea as "Incog-Neat-O!" opens. The melody is on the mysterious side, with a touch of middle eastern influence. The swirly organ on the right and guitar off to the right detracts from focus some, but the song is really cool!
Surf Rock (Instrumental)
Compared to the other two instros here, "A Day At The Races" is a relatively uninteresting track with little melody, relying heavily on loudness and screaming engines.
Go-Go Surf (Instrumental)
A grode glissando and grumbly bass launch this twangster with surf feel. Minimal surf progressions, loud sound, and intense unchanging energy. The dry muted rhythm is pretty cool.
