|It's been two years since the Nelsonics' CD hit the street. This three song EP sports more of their signature bouncing R&B go-go instro style. Fun stuff.|
Picks: Dousman Street, Mission 2 Mod, Go Go Motorscooter
Track by Track Review
The organ circulates between the speakers and the guitar sounds bluesy. "Dousman Street" is a jammin' frat rocker with fun in mind. Lots of energy and a sense of the R&B instros of the mid sixties.
Warbly tweaky Theremin, chunky go-go bass and drums, R&B organ, and playful energy. It's a relentless instro mover. I'm not sure why, but "Mission 2 Mod" reminds me a bit of the Tiki Tones.
"Go Go Motorscooter" is a streetwise rocker with scooter engines running in the breaks. Organ and guitar share the leads. Lots of bounce and fun, and great drums. Infectious rhythm dominated fun, with go-go sensibilities and modern guitar. The organ pumps like sixties combo instros, and the bass thumps along nicely. The drums are great!
