This is a straight cover of the Ray Beats' arrangement of Danny Amis' first song. It's been covered a lot, from the Thrusters and the Mallards to the Shockwaves and Diamondheads. This demo recording is very reverent, with the right charm and tempo. Very nice to hear.
"Hang Ten" is an original with a solid melody and friendly sound. Decidedly modern, with a well developed structure and great rhythm. I'm surprised that the Diamondheads haven't brought this forward to their current set. "Hang Ten" was written by Steve Lavelle with a lot of help from brother Mark Lavelle.
