artwork"Too Fast" Jim Nichols of 9th Wave is also in this new band, and this demo displays some really good surf. Tight, liquid, and splashy, the tracks within are infectious, fast, and very cool. I'm looking forward to a great CD when it happens.
Picks: Spanito Bandito, The Green Room, High Tide, Stop Thinkin' Start Drinkin', Steel Pier, The Godfather, Swan Lake

Track by Track Review

Spanito Bandito dotdotdotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

Big drums drive this hard, and the surf guitar dribbles out a great reverbed melody. A little dark, double picked, sparkling, and very cool. In some ways, the writing reminds me of Mark Brodie. Fast and powerful like a racing shortboard adventure, I think this is the best track here, worthy of many spins.

The Green Room dotdotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

Another fine surf melody delivered with excellent reverb and style. The chop and drum breaks are very cool. Infectious and hard driving, with an optimistic edge.

High Tide dotdotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

The Lively Ones' "High Tide" finds new life in this spectacular setting. fast and powerful, and very well played, this brings me back for more.

Stop Thinkin' Start Drinkin' dotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

"Stop Thinkin' Start Drinkin'" is uninhibited liquid riff surf, with great glissandoes, tight breaks, and flash, but a little less melodic than the other tracks here.

Steel Pier dotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

The Impacts' "Steel Pier" gets the full reverb treatment, with a splash of power and a tuff sound. An excellent cover.

The Godfather dotdotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

The theme to the film, this is fast and double picked in a surf rather than Italian style, and drives much harder than other versions. But wait, there's the slow line-dance verse. Very cool!

Swan Lake dotdotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

Tchaikovsky's "Swan Lake" is driven pretty hard, and reverbed fully until it drips surf from every note. Fast and really infectious. This may be the best cover yet.
