Phil Dirt - Reverb Central - PO Box 1609, Felton, CA 95018-1609 USA The Monster Stalkers - Do The Sasquatch

 | Surf guitarists Mark Brodie (Mark Brodie and the Beaver Patrol) and Rich Hagensen (The Surfdusters), are back among the reverb tanks with a seven inch of frat rock oriented, surf drenched tunes. The a-side instro has chants of Do The Sasquatch, while the b-side sports one instro and one vocal. Lotso fun here, boys and girls. |

Track by Track Review
Frat Surf (Vocal)
Mark Brodie's surf guitar fills the breaks and provides rhythm for this frat garage groove. Chunky and rhythmic, and ending with cool reverb crashes. Technically a vocal, the lines are in vein of The Novas' "The Crusher." This is way too much fun!
Rock (Instrumental)
Surf guitar tone, rockin' fifties progressions, and great piano. There's nothing about "Wailin' Wolf" that doesn't scream genuine. Splendid energy, great fun, and sparkling spirit.
(Don't Go To) Forbidden Plateao

Frat Surf (Vocal)
Great surf rhythm and rolling piano, and gritty vocals about scary places. Mark Brodie's surf rhythms are very cool. This feels more the The Beaver Patrol than anything else, especially when you get to the instrumental break.
