 | Never mind the title, the four instros here do not even vaguely approach surf. It may be rare, but it's far from important. |
Picks: El Gato Mexicano
Track by Track Review
Memphis
Rock (Instrumental)
This is a cheesy, low brow garage rendering of Chuck Berry's "Memphis" influenced by Lonnie Mack, but played with little spunk and pumping organ.
Rock (Instrumental)
The Shadows' "Dance On" is done in a fairly light format, with dry muted chords and organ sleaze. Nothing special here - just a simple arrangement and uninspired performance.
Rock (Instrumental)
Mexican horns and organ deliver this classic melody. Perhaps more inspired than most here, "El Gato Mexicano" is pretty fun and honest. Requisite shouts add to the party theme.
Ciudad Juarez
Rock (Instrumental)
Organ and sax drive this so-so version of "Ciudad Juarez." There's nothing that really stands out on this.
