Track by Track Review
Surf (Instrumental)
Middle Eastern dark chunk and drama, with rhythmic churning and a circular riff that's dangerous and compelling in its simplicity, amped by great chords between lines. A very strong track!
Surfabilly (Instrumental)
"Baile" is wonderful in the studio. A rockabilly backtrack pumps under a pair of surfabilly guitars having a great time. Infectious energy and a stompin' good time is had by all. Muted reverbed chops add flair and style. Very cool!
Surf (Instrumental)
Lovely chords, a moody melody, slightly dangerous imagery, surf rhythm, great drums, and a circular guitar line that's dark and edgy. "Green Dream" is high energy, conjuring images of surfers in too close to the rocks trying to cutback and get out of trouble, but the rocks are about to grind them up. Great track!
Surf (Instrumental)
A "Pipeline"-ish rhythm and dangerous chords bring on inevitable chaos that looms just beyond that next outsider. Infectious rhythms, dark imagery, and a well developed arrangement. Lots of power and intrigue.
Surfabilly (Instrumental)
Hot boogie danger, reverb splash, and the risk of a rumble down that alley. "Hot Rod Boogie" is a surf and rock track with a bit of country gingham. Very fun.
Surf (Instrumental)
Great chop chords and glissandos, and an LA in the early eighties (similar to Tommy and the Piers) style melody line add up to speedy aggressive reverb coolness. The energy in this song is superb, giving that open road-race feeling.
