Track by Track Review

Folk Jovem dotdotdotdot
Surfabilly (Instrumental)

An infectious ska guitar and stompin' rhythm, groovy splashing reverb, and shoutin' good times. If a hoe-down was a surf event, it would sound like this! Totally cool!

Oceano Atlantico dotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

"Oceano Atlantico" sports a delicate melody and muted reverb rhythm. The structure is a bit European, but the melody and sound are not. Nicely arranged and well developed.

Maremoto dotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

As a theme song (I suppose), "Maremoto" is all about the pulsing intensity. The glissandos are speedy and powerful, and the song engaging. It seems to grow on you as you listen.

Tormenta dotdotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

This is a somewhat dark tune with a relentless feeling and rhythmic nature. Its energy is on the uneasy side, like a sense that you should be where you are. Very effective.

Vento Terral dotdotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

"Vento Terral" races along the freeway with double picked water lines and optimistic tone. The open road calls, and you will answer. Baja is just down the coast, after all!

Duo On The Rock dotdotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

On the lighter side of the aisle, "Duo On The Rock" uses a warm and friendly melody played at a moderate pace that's quite pleasing. Ringing chords and a very cool sax in the break. Simply an enjoyable track.

Sem Para dotdotdotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

"Sem Para" is a jumping curl ride with the lip overhead. Great drums, particularly the tom toms. Thunder and danger and splashing reverb. The sax wails in the break to add even more edge. A great track.

Osama dotdotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

Middle Eastern dark chunk and drama, with rhythmic churning and a circular riff that's dangerous and compelling in its simplicity, amped by great chords between lines. A very strong track!

Surfista Anomino dotdotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

High energy optimistic surf for a fast ride on soupy seas. The melody line is unique, as is the structure. Engaging and menacing, while the thrill of the ride comes through loud and clear. Very cool.

Baile dotdotdotdot
Surfabilly (Instrumental)

"Baile" is wonderful in the studio. A rockabilly backtrack pumps under a pair of surfabilly guitars having a great time. Infectious energy and a stompin' good time is had by all. Muted reverbed chops add flair and style. Very cool!
