Phil Dirt - Reverb Central - PO Box 1609, Felton, CA 95018-1609 USA Jon and the Nightriders - Splashback!

 | This wonderful EP came out during the first flurry of the surf revival. The title track is a swell medley, but the surprise dance club hit version of "El Paso" is worth the price alone. The fun here is grand. |
Picks: Splashback, El Paso, Baja, Ready Steady Rock Jetty

Surf (Instrumental)
A great medley, collecting a gaggle of the most familiar surf instros. It runs for a while, and never loses your attention. Think of it as the history of surf, part 1.
Surf (Instrumental)
Talk about your infectious tracks! This was a surprise dance club hit in Southern California in the summer of '82. The rhythm is unbelievable catchy, and the rompin' spirit superb! A brilliant arrangement executed perfectly!
Surf (Instrumental)
Jon and the Nightriders have cut "Baja" a few times. While not as fiery as the Whiskey version, this still rips with a semi-gentle rhythm. Very cool!
Surf (Instrumental)
Totally fun original with twinges of Motown structuring. Great infectious record.
