This is a very crudely recorded riff rocker with a surf beat behind a variant of Al Casey's "Ramrod." Tonally, it's back woods rock, but it also has some surf influences, particularly in the drum beat. "The Big Rumble" is much more than the usual b-side riff rock, though that's certainly it's main influence.
