Phil Dirt - Reverb Central - PO Box 1609, Felton, CA 95018-1609 USA The Invisible Surfers - Till That Day

 | Holy crap! The Invisible Surfers rock really loud and hard! Till That Day is mostly pretty darn solid, and if you ever saw Da Monz before the birth of The Berzerkers, you'll get this right away. Caution, it's loud, fuzzy, and not at all suited for dinner music! |

Track by Track Review
Bad Brakes
Garage Surf (Instrumental)
"Bad Brakes" is a loud garage riff rocker with only the slightest tangential relationship to surf via the drum beat.
Los Pilotos Esta'n Muertos

Garage Surf (Instrumental)
Nasty fuzz-o-rama aggression with a cool lead line and really loud sound. Pure garage instrumental assault.
Garage Surf (Instrumental)
This is a heavy surf and gray storm, almost metal danger instro with tastefully placed glissandos and a grode sound. Great drums that remind me a bit of the drums in Da Monz's "Ten Cent Dance Girl," and lots of grumble beneath the dark-edged guitar.
Garage Surf (Instrumental)
"Hey You Beg For Mercy" uses an Armageddon "Buzzard"-like riff in the opening, and then graduates to intense distortion. This might remind local who have seen Da Monz/The Berzerkers in their early daze of those insane distortion fests.
Garage Surf (Instrumental)
Glorious guitar noise with a very cool melody and oddly mysterious imagery. Grating and intense, yet fluid and melodic. "Down At Santa Marina" is one cool track!
Garage Surf (Instrumental)
Dirty, gross-distortion guitar fuzzes out a major grind. The sound of "Lickin' Nipples" doesn't suggest the activity it's named for at all. The double picked guitar plays a melody line suggestive of the middle east, but the fuzz is all American!
Garage Surf (Instrumental)
Huge, rockin', relentless, and loud. Fast picking, ultra-fuzz, super compressed, and dirty. Very aggressive and potent!
Garage Surf (Instrumental)
A circling riff surrounds the opening, and then an aggressive mysterious melody line is delivered with evil fuzz. "Two Miles Woman" is an assault on what's left of the night.
Got To Go (Leaving You In Misery)
Garage Surf (Instrumental)
"Got To Go (Leaving You In Misery)" is a heavy riff rocker with more punch than melody or interest. I don't think this is very engaging at all.
O.D. From Love
Garage Surf (Instrumental)
This is a totally repetitious instro with energy, but lacking an attraction. Heavy and dark, but just not very interesting.
Garage Surf (Instrumental)
Sorta bluesy in an over the top obnoxious way. There are times when "Totally Satisfied" seems to have spy influences, but the aggression is all that you're really left with.
