Phil Dirt - Reverb Central - PO Box 1609, Felton, CA 95018-1609 USA The Huntington Cads - Go Exotic!!

 | The Huntington Cads reside in that void between the Tiki-Tones and Surf, where the waves are reverbin' in the structures, and the lounge is adorned with tikis and torch lanterns. The playing is pretty, luscious, precise, and very clean. Many tracks feature that wet surf guitar lead, and acoustic guitar rhythms, while others feature a Martin Denny vibraphone. Oleaje Exotica Deluxe! This is a well-recorded CD full of great listening, either as a main attraction, or as a bed for a bit of the wine & wrestle. |

Track by Track Review
Surf (Instrumental)
A great happy bouncy surf melody!
Surf (Instrumental)
"Ebonite Satellite" is a gently double picked number that oozes Spanish California coolness.
Surf (Instrumental)
Derivative of something I can't place, but infectious anyway.
Surf (Instrumental)
Loungie smooth Hawaiian mood music!
Surf (Instrumental)
Vibrato, smooth and sinewy, with nice whammy action, and a touch of the Middle East.
Surf (Instrumental)
Really nice infectious surf, catchy and emjoyable. I think I come back to this track more than any other on this CD.
Surf (Instrumental)
Like a cool bath in the shadow of the tiki in exotic Samoa.
Surf (Instrumental)
Vibrato shimmer and whammy action accent a good melody.
Surf (Instrumental)
Cool gentility oozes from this double picked tune.
Surf (Instrumental)
Great drums under a whammy laden shimmery song.
Surf (Instrumental)
Slow dancing in Honolulu under the torches while a gentle breeze whooshes through the air peek-a-boo flap lifting a wrap-around barely covering a naked body... yikes... a sensuous song.
The Corsair
Surf (Instrumental)
Gentle, but not too memorable.
DeGuello
Surf (Instrumental)
Great drums and guitar syncopation, a decent melody, precise picking. Just not inspiring.
Forbidden Shores
Surf (Instrumental)
A "Wild As The Sea" feel to this sunset stroll number. Low-E strings work gives it a faintly ominous or mysterious air, but nothing special.
