Phil Dirt - Reverb Central - PO Box 1609, Felton, CA 95018-1609 USA The Huntington Cads - 5...4...3...2...1 Cads Are Go!

 | The Huntington Cads are one cool trad surfband from the Southern half of California. They have a clean, bright, energetic sound, and write really well. 5...4...3...2...1 Cads Are Go! is an excellent first issue (well, after a track or two on comps, anyway). |
Picks: Ebonite Satellite, Mr. Midnight In Lunar Limbo, Vibrasonic, Last Frontier
Track by Track Review
Surf (Instrumental)
"Ebonite Satellite" is a gently double picked number that oozes Spanish California coolness. It has a long introduction, but once past that, it's a very pleasing track.
Mr. Midnight In Lunar Limbo

Surf (Instrumental)
"Mr. Midnight In Lunar Limbo" is a slow trembling vibrato song that's a touch heavy, quite moody, and shimmery. Easy to like, gentle on the mind, and nicely arranged.
Surf (Instrumental)
This is a punchy and melodic track, with an adequate supply of shimmer. "Vibrasonic" does not even hint of the band of that name, but then why would it? A fine melody and good energy are here, as great writing.
Surf (Instrumental)
"Last Frontier" has a great melody. It's use of distant Theremin gives it slightly weird feeling. The melody is very nice and the performance tight.
