 | OK, this may be the top of the heap! The whole Ghouls album is here! This was a gimmicky album that featured some spectacular Richie Podolor instros, most notably "Coffin Nails." There's material from the Super Stocks, and the ultra goofy "Image of a Surfer" from LA DJ Lloyd Thaxton. The most surprising inclusion is both sides of the Indigos rare instro. Lots of vintage magic here. |

Surf (Instrumental)
More amazing Richie Podolor guitarage. I can't get enough of his work. This is a silky slow track with a beautiful melody line and an optimistic sadness about it. Really cool!
Surf Chunky (Instrumental)
The final version of the demo from the Super Stocks CD. It's another gorgeous Richie Podolor tune. His tone was totally bitchin, warm and crisp. He reportedly plugged directly into the board to get his sound. What ever he did, it was magical!
Surf (Instrumental)
Richie Podolor on guitar, with his usual style and brilliant writing. This is a slight reworking of another Podolor piece, but with the sultry organ just below the surface and the infectious guitar, this is magnificent. Wow!

This reworking of a tune first surfacing from the Super Stocks alter-ego, this is rhythmic and infectious. More than a demo, and a little less than a polished track, this still attracts with it's simplicity and clean sound.

With delicate lead guitar work, this track features some tasteful guitar work and well-metered playing. The structure is surf, while the sound is a little more to the center. A nice track.

Wolf howls, Super Stocks structures, and clean simple melody lines. Nicely twanged, rhythmically backed, and a little subdued.
Younger Girl (instrumental) Surf (Instrumental)
This is the backtrack to the vocal. Unlike most, it holds up relatively well without the vocals. tasteful lead guitar rings out with an interesting riff while the organ whirls underneath. The vibrato is quite shimmering. very pleasant.
All American Girl (instrumental) Rock (Instrumental)
This is much more typical of backtracks, just a progression and a lick designed to stay out of the way of the vocal.
Surf (Instrumental)
This interesting surf-based number sports unreverbed damped guitar leads and vibratoed leads as well. It's plucky and playful, and quite rare.
Surf (Instrumental)
This is interesting if only for the Jamaican percussion. Fine sub-surf guitar, a playful melody riff, and a very infectious rhythm. Again, very rare.
My Little Bike (instrumental) Surf (Instrumental)
This is the backtrack to the single. It is without a melody, and so it gets old pretty quickly.
The Pack (instrumental) Surf (Instrumental)
Another back track which is merely historical without a lead melody line.
