The Hollywoods - Do The Hypnotic Walkdotdot
artworkThis is the first single from Sweden's Hollywoods. It's a lo-fi release that's well written, but sadly hard to listen to. Two of the instros show promise, but are held back by dreadful sound.
Picks: Hypnotic Walk, Skeleton Stomp, Monstro Lagoon

Track by Track Review

Hypnotic Walk dot
Horror Surf (Instrumental)

A circular riff grumble over a trashy lo-fi backtrack. "Hypnotic Walk" has potential, but the awful sound quality just doesn't do it justice. There's spunk under the murk.

Skeleton Stomp dotdotdot
Horror Surf (Instrumental)

The riff here is more melodic and developed, and the thematic nature of the melody is very surfable. "Skeleton Stomp" is less trashy, but still very low resolution.

Monstro Lagoon dotdotdot
Horror Surf (Instrumental)

Large whammy trash runs through "Monstro Lagoon." The song is pretty cool, but the murky sound is not helpful. You can tell there's power here, but the boom box sound hides it.
