Hawaii Mud Bombers - Mondo Primodotdotdot
artworkHawaii Mud Bombers sing surf punk and play occasional instros. Some vocals use the contrast of Beach Boys-like chorus against rhythmic, almost Toy Dolls-like punk. Some cool stuff here beyond the instros.
Picks: Torpedo, Intermission

Track by Track Review

Torpedo dotdotdot
Surf Punk (Instrumental)

Rhythmic and heavy like eighties surf punk, "Torpedo" employs a like-period melody and power. Muted chop chords drive it home. The melody in unchanging and relentless. The break is pretty cool.

Intermission dotdotdot
Surf Punk (Instrumental)

The slow rhythm is very cool, and the drums and bass recall eighties surf punk. The melody here is really nice. While relatively the same most of the way through, "Intermission" is nonetheless an engaging track well suited for a top down coastal drive. The tremolo chords mid way through add more surf imagery. Very nice.
