Duke Galaxy and the Pipeliners - S/Tdotdotdot
artworkThis New York State band (recorded in Webster, issued out of Rochester) has issued only this one ep as far as I know. Edgy garage surf and guitar jive with fun and trashy reverb.
Picks: Rhinochasers, Steamer, Titan

Track by Track Review

Rhinochasers dotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

Chirpy electronics and a brave new world of doom introduce this riff rocker. Reverby in the whole track sense and very progressional. There are some bright sports between verses, but mostly it's trashy chord surf with a bit of whammy. The break is very cool, almost a reggae romp.

Steamer dotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

"Steamer" features a little double picking and a glissando or two in a mostly rock instro format with some surfable lines. The melody riff is pretty cool. This track reminds me a bit of the Evasions, only not as clean.

Titan dotdotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

A pretty infectious melody line and lots of free-flowing beer infused surf and slide. The lazy cowpoke break is a very funny shift in focus... "Titan" is based on a familiar riff, but I can't place it. Yikes.
