Track by Track Review

Rattlesnake dotdotdot
Big Guitar (Instrumental)

Dark and ominous, "Rattlesnake" rocks and sways with a James Bond / Link Wray feel. Powerful and big, with some cool drums and menacing tones.

Lies dotdotdot
Big Guitar (Instrumental)

Knickerbockers' "Lies" is ground out with flair and charm. The reduction in intensity employed gives it a more fluid feeling, and a friendlier sound. Very cool cover.

3 For Trouble dotdotdot
Big Guitar (Instrumental)

Big guitar rumblin' crunch, effected with several degrees of dementia and stinging danger. Sorta spy, a little Link Wray, and sporting s cool melody. The second guitar is double picking its heart out while the lead is twanging grodie intense.

Wipe Out dotdotdot
Big Guitar (Instrumental)

It's been a while since anyone's covered the Surfaris' "Wipe Out." This is big and grungy, and the drums are powerful and rhythmic. I think it's among the better versions out there.

They Call Him Crazy dotdotdotdot
Spaghetti Western (Instrumental)

Dangerous vibrato and a haunting melody provide a dangerous scene. Damn fine spaghetti western construction and evil sound combine for a risky ride. Very unusual, and quite magnetic.

No Place To Hide dotdotdotdot
Big Guitar (Instrumental)

"No Place To Hide (LP version)" is a variation of "Jack The Ripper" with big crunch and a tuff power drive. It's not an exact copy, but the parallel is unmistakable. A splendidly aggressive and long-sustained monster that's sure to please. Totally excellent!

Last Bullet dotdotdot
Spaghetti Western (Instrumental)

Like a scene track from a spaghetti western, "Las Bullet" beautifully portrays a sad scene. The lead is carried by clear dry guitar for a Spanish feel. Very cool, and quite dramatic.

Murder dotdotdot
Big Guitar (Instrumental)

A Link Wray structure provides a foundation for a dangerous riff rocker. Metronomic, ominous, and chunky.

Bumble Bee dotdotdotdot
Big Guitar (Instrumental)

Arranged from the Ventures' version, this is tuff and bass glissando laden, and much less fluffy than the V-boys. Intense guitar and power bass.

Caravan dotdotdotdot
Big Guitar (Instrumental)

Duke Ellington's "Caravan" is driven by tribal drums and thick guitar. This is a hard rockin' thunderous treatment. The Tahitian percussion break is an original touch. Excellent.
