Phil Dirt - Reverb Central - PO Box 1609, Felton, CA 95018-1609 USA | Three tracks recorded live from The Flowmasters. The drummer rocks, and the band's sense of period rock instros is pretty good. |
Picks: The Jester, You Can't Sit Down
Track by Track Review
Surf (Instrumental)
This is a rippin' cover of Jim Messina and the Jesters' "The Jester." It's energy is very good, and the drummer is right on. The performance is very strong, and the mix complimentary.
Telstar
Rock (Instrumental)
This is an OK keyboard rendering of The Tornados' "Telstar." It's on the light weight side, and, while competent, it's not very memorable.
Rock (Instrumental)
The Dartells' "You Can't Sit Down" is done nicely with organ and guitar trading off as required. The surfish rhythm is tasteful. It's been a while since I've heard this covered this well.
