Los Flamingos - El Excitante Sonido Instrumental De Los Flamingosdotdotdotdot
artworkThese seven tracks from Los Flamingos are a nice departure from the norm. While the recording and mastering quality vary a lot, the music is consistently well crafted and original, and with enough variation in pace and emotional concept to keep the sounds flowing.

Track by Track Review

Bikinis Out dotdotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

"Bikinis Out" is a chunky twangy reverb laden instro with great whammy chords and damped reverb in support of an intriguing melody line. Dark in some way, but not threatening at all. Original, rich, and attractive.

Espesura Beach dotdotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

A great beat drives an aggressive double picked song that's delicate and strong. An inviting melody line and surf sparkle, coupled with abundant reverb. There's a brief odd break with shouts of exuberance and dangerous tin horn trumpeting.

Verde Botella dotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

A cool track from Los Flamingos that's Spanish and twangy. Rich in tone and reverb, it features an engaging melody line that's a bit moody and quite cool. Excellent.

Topless dotdotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

Rapidly paced, a semi military beat, rich surf against surf rhythm and melody. The melody is quite attractive. There is also organ in support. "Topless" is an unusual track with an upbeat and magnetic energy. The last third is slowed way down for a sinewy island feel.

Flequillos Y Minifaldas dotdotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

"Flequillos Y Minifaldas" is a softly flowing island breeze of a surf instro. Moody and liquid, almost depressing in its sadness and drama, yet hauntingly interesting. A very cool idea.

La Madre Del Topo dotdotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

Speed and abandon drive "La Madre Del Topo" as if the surf will just not wait another five minutes. The urgency and anticipation are quite apparent.

Todo Lo Que Quiero Hacer dotdotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

Rich muted reverb splash notes over rolling tom toms bring on a song with a cautiously adventurous feel. A drive down a coastal road on a warm afternoon after a rain... OK, maybe that's reading in a bit much, but the structure of "Todo Lo Que Quiero Hacer" lends itself to topdown touring.
