Fifty Foot Combo - Jennifer Jennings c/w Drunkabilly Labelsamplerdotdotdot
artworkThis CD single comes with one new song, and two new live versions of older songs, plus a Drunkabilly label sampler with more tracks from Fifty Foot Combo as well as Speedball Jr., the awesome O'Hara's, and Thee Andrews Surfers, reviewed separately as a collection. The live material takes on the density and some of the strangeness of the Mutants.
Picks: Jennifer Jennings, Theme From F.A.C.T.S., Banana Split

Track by Track Review

Jennifer Jennings dotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

"Jennifer Jennings" is a chunky go-go grind with female ah-ahs and a groovy melody line pumped out in fuzz. This is very big sounding, well mixed, and catchy in a tall white boots discotheque trance way.

Theme From F.A.C.T.S. dotdotdot
Go-Go Groove (Instrumental)

Chunkin' pumpin' post lounge exotica for a rock combo. While it's not very melodic, it is rhythmically enticing. The big beat and heavy guitars demand attention much in the way that the Mutants do. Lots of wah-wah chops.

Banana Split dotdotdot
Go-Go Groove (Instrumental)

Launched from a Shaft-like wah wah riff, "Banana Split" is a thick pounder with noise in every corner. Very intense.
