Fathom This! dotdotdotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

The rhythm patterns here are superb, as is the melody. "Fathom This!" is a wonderful and rhythmic track with a catchy sound. Very much in the infectious mold of "Fathomless" and other early Fathoms instros, this features great sax breaks and totally cool guitars.

Aqua Beat dotdotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

Deep twangin' whammy dips and a playful melody line give "Aqua Beat" a sense of innocent instrumental charm. Superb guitar work, dribbling glissandos, and a simple country charm coexist with excellent results.

She's The One dotdotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

"She's The One" has a warm charm and lovely melody, with excellent tremolo charm and a real sense of traveling motion. This one grows on you!

The Palomino dotdotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

This is an easy flowing track with Mexican trumpets and a lovely melody. It's a beautiful track with a deceptively easy sound that creeps in and doesn't let go. Very nice track!

Castle Island Dream dotdotdotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

Tribal exotic drums, superb playful guitars, and a too-cool rhythm. "Castle Island Dream" is one thoroughly enjoyable track. It's hard not to grin with satisfaction as The Fathoms play this number. Superb!

Dagger Bones dotdotdotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

With a touch of mystery and a bit of cowboys in the desert, "Dagger Bones" is just plain cool. Great lead guitar, cool up glissandos, and a superb fluid motion. In some ways, this reminds me of Dire Straits in only they were a surf band. Exceptional.

Dark Secret dotdotdotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

Dramatic and tribal drums, pick slides and gorgeous chords, slightly ominous sound, and shimmering beauty. "Dark Secret" is really lovely and strong in a mid-tempo scenic way.

Leap Froggin' dotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

With a goofy country bounce, "Leap Froggin'" sneaks up on you with a grin and charm. Simply fun in a liquid country kind of way.

Mimi's Theme dotdotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

Great drums and warm desert charm ooze from every corner of "Mimi's Theme." The melody riff is rich and the whammy chords add an island sensibility. This is a very cool track.

Midway A-Go-Go dotdotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

Stomp on demand with a bit of playful rhythm. "Midway A-Go-Go" is unusual and fun, with more focus on its structure than the melody. In many ways,it reminds me of some of the cooler stuff from Los Straitjackets, especially in terms of beat and a grin.

Panito dotdotdotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

If you like The Eliminators and south of the border imagery, "Panito" will do just fine. Very good melody and undulating flow, with saucy sax break and exotic percussion. Excellent!

Pony Expresso dotdotdotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

Tremolo throb and moody imagery permeate the fluid rhythms of "Pony Expresso." This is a bit mysterious, but not at all dangerous. The warmth and charm of the track are totally infectious!

Rat Bike dotdotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

A heavy rhythm and fuzz combine in a nod to Davie Allan that's much better than most such tributes. I'm guessing this is a tribute to Davie, because it's got a lot of what his music is all about, both in the grand swipes and twin guitar anthem sound, and in the whole feel of the track. Great piano! I like this a lot!

Tail Waggin' dotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

"Tail Waggin'" is a fun track with a goofy rhythm track and playful melody line. Part go-go, part country, part lounge, it's hard not to like.
