The Falling Spikes - Big Blue Wavedotdotdot
artworkEugene, Oregon legends The Falling Spikes issued a small number of singles, which included this surf-on-surf double a rocker. Illusive these days, and quite cool.
Picks: Big Blue Wave, Clam Dippin'

Big Blue Wave dotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

This is a big, garagy surf instro in the frat rockin' style of garage bands of the eighties. Gritty and abrasive, and in this case, with sung lines of "the big blue wave." Not quite instrumental, but not quite vocal either. Nothing special, but very listenable in the period.

Clam Dippin' dotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

"Clam Dippin'" has a cool rock instro melody that's surfable and adventurous. The track is strong, with great drums and rock solid bass. Fits right in with a short board set of late eighties-early nineties surf from the west coast.
