Track by Track Review
"A Date With Gravity" is a highly original song with a catchy sound and solid energy. There's a solid sense of motion and aquatic charm. The rhythm guitar's rock patterns are a bit high in the mix, but otherwise, this is very cool.
Employing The Venture's "Walk Don't Run" chord progression, "Wait Don't Walk" features an original Spanish flavored melody and a rock solid energy. The break os toned down for a mod shift. Infectious and very cool.
Soul Surf (Instrumental)
"Tacos And Tequila" is a bit funky, or maybe Memphis soulful, with a groovy melody line and sparkling chords. Occasional glissandos and great drums round it out. Ah - lunch is on!
This is a very coo track, with a catchy guitar rhythm and lovely coastal Mexican melody line. The softer break, with its lovely chords, adds immeasurably. "Bend Don't Break" is superb!
"Kevin And Karrie Do" is a lovely thing with grand chords amid the melody and a light rhythm suggesting an easy going journey south of the border. Pretty, romantic, engaging, and great for traveling!
Too cool! A semi-funky bass and drums thing, with muted second guitar and delicate occasionally muted lead lines too. "Padded Room" demands repeated listening!
An oriental riff, a classic surf beat, a fluid melody, and an infectious sound. "Yao Surfer" is a wonderful track with warmth and exotic imagery. The organ adds a sense of small combo innocence. Superb!
"Long Time No Sea" is a bouncy number that's rhythmically engaging. It's a light hearted number that's an easy listen. Great title!
