Phil Dirt - Reverb Central - PO Box 1609, Felton, CA 95018-1609 USA The Exotics - Goofy Foot

 | The Exotics sport a dryer sorta seventies guitar sound that somehow works pretty well. The cover art is even a cartoon parody of the Ventures "Walk, Don't Run" album, pointy bra hussy and all. |

Track by Track Review
Surf (Instrumental)
Ocean waves break on the shore as the Exotics break into a solid performance of the Lively Ones' "Surf Battle." Demo sound makes it a little murky, but the band plays with power and style. Hard driving and very cool.
Guitar Twist
Surf (Instrumental)
The "What's I Say" progression is the basis for this, with chop and chomp guitar verses and what ends up being more like a wild surf jam than a song.
The Switch
Surf (Instrumental)
Dry fuzz guitar and a frat band garage sound with many derivative borrowings. This cover of the Ventures' "The Switch" is fun, but not memorable.
