 | This 1963 single sounds like it is from the same sessions that produced The Mar-Kets Surfing Scene. Joe Saraceno produced it, which tells all. |
Picks: Massacre Stomp
Track by Track Review
Surf (Instrumental)
Frat rompin' in a "Cinnamon Cinder "groove with great piano and a simple riff that would also be the basis of the Rolling Stones' "I'm All Right" a couple of years later. This is virtually the same as The Mar-Kets track from the Surfing Scene LP, but it's 20 seconds longer.
Surf (Instrumental)
A female voice sings a chorus against a fairly gutty backtrack for the first part of the song, before moving into boring light pop rock with a pompous edge. Occasionally interesting, like many of Joe Saraceno's productions.
