Phil Dirt - Reverb Central - PO Box 1609, Felton, CA 95018-1609 USA Dawn Patrol - Radio West 'Stork On Air'

 | This is a four-song set from a live radio broadcast. Dawn Patrol present four covers. two modern, and two vintage. The band plays consistently well and arranges in a much lighter style than most modern surfbands. These are very nice tracks. |
Picks: Pintor, Baja, Dreams, Pit Stop

Surf (Instrumental)
This is a gently whammified cover of The Pharos' "Pintor." It's very nicely played and mixed, with the delicate styling adding suave to the original's exquisite charm. Very cool!
Surf (Instrumental)
Through a very light delivery, Dawn Patrol play Lee Hazelwood's superb surf classic "Baja." Delivered on very easy terms, the song shows its flexibility yet again. Beautiful.
Surf (Instrumental)
My absolute favorite Surf Coasters' song gets a delightfully light weight treatment suggested by the original. Where The Surf Coasters went in heavier directions with "Dreams" over time, Dawn Patrol went the other way into a beautifully delicate direction.

The Torquays' fluid "Pit Stop" is done with splendid tone and precision. This is a very straight forward arrangement - quite effective.
