Track by Track Review

Mondragora dotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

This is a pretty chunky traditionally styled surf jam, mid tempo and infectious. The trad progression styled melody line, damped plucks, and definite surf tweaked structure provide ample interest and wet rhythms.

Fast Faoud dotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

"Fast Faoud" aka "Fast Food" is fast and playful, surf for the drive through music that twangs at sixty m.p.h. like beat up Rambler with the top down and a belly board in the back seat. Completely fun. Like Homer says, "Ummm - bur-gers."

Tempestosa dotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

Italy's Gli Scriteriati rush through Jesters of Newport's "Stormy" with surf garage urgency and trashy abandon. The break is much more noodly than melodic, while the main theme is based on the antique masterpiece.

Full Moon On Balboa Beach dotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

Ultra reverbed in a distant wash of surf with an outside the hall sound. "Full Moon On Balboa Beach" is a bit noodly, yet more than just a jam. The main riff is classic surf. This is not the Danny Amis band from the eighties, but rather are from Greece.

Sicilian Girl dotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

Highly melodic with vintage production values, right down to the "ah's" of the chorus. The end is less melodic... more primitive. Middle Finger and his Fingertips are a side project of the Hunchbacked Men from Bari, Italy.

Not So Quiet dotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

A very competent performance of Richie Allen and the Pacific Surfers' "Not So Quiet." Saturn V featuring Orbit play perfectly period surf here, and it's hard to miss with a Richie Podolor song.

Uno Sparo nel Buio dotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

Henry Mancini's "Pink Panther Theme" is surf/spy trashed with joyous reverb and playful licks. It's overdubbed with a loose narrative in a verse or two.

Hawaiian Moon Walk dotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

"Hawaiian Moon Walk" is a splashy Polynesian based number with a catchy riff and cool string bending like a demented Hawaiian vacation. Royal Knightmares aka the Others have been leaking out surf instros for five years or so.

The Search For Dr. Goldfoot dotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

The normally plaid garage trash Girl Bombs from Canada deliver a chorded riff surf piece with a low key sound and carport reverb.

Pipeline dotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

Hailing from Tuscany, Italy, Day Daytona and the Goo Goo Bombos deliver a solid garagie "Pipeline" captured live on radio in Florence, Italy.
