 | This is one of those scary releases that reminds you how many people still don't "get it" about surf music. It may be called Surf Party, but it's not related to the film, though it does include one of the bands on the soundtrack, and it contains mostly the surf pop of the barber shop swooner set. In fact, there is only one instro, and it's the Astronauts' cover of Pipeline. The bright vocal spot is their stellar Competition Coupe. The CD mostly contains common Beach Boys and Jan & Dean hits. |
